On Thursday we will do our annual Egg Hunt in a different way. I asked the students to bring in plastic eggs filled with candy and instead of taking them outside and hiding them, they will pass them out similar to the way they distributed the Valentine's Day cards. The students will sit in a circle with a bag in front of them and a student will place one egg in each bag. We will continue this until all the eggs have been placed in the bags. Then the students will spread out and see what kind of candy was in the eggs. Every year it is either too rainy, cold, or wet to go outside to hunt for the eggs. And if you do it inside, don't be surprised if you find a few eggs when you are cleaning up at the end of the school year!
Mom is doing something different this year, too. She asked students to bring in a bag of wrapped candy. She has a white bag for each student and is distributing the candy into the bags. She is stapling the bags closed and writing each student's name on the bottom of the bag. Her class will go outside and the students will place one of the bags (not their bag) somewhere in the grass. They will get back in a line and once they all get back into the line, she will let them go and find their bag of candy (which has their name written on the bottom). When they get back into the classroom they will get a chance to look inside the bags.
What other ways have you done an Egg Hunt?
